Making policy work for you

This session will enable you to understand where policy comes from and the policy cycle – from idea through to implementation. We will examine good policy making versus bad and the unique context of policy making under devolved powers. The overall aim of this session is to help you understand where government policy comes from, how it affects our sector and how you can try to influence it.

How can we affect policy? This session will examine successful and unsuccessful campaigns and will have guest speakers looking at how they have campaigned for change. This session will help you understand the key ingredients in devising a campaign on the issues that matter to you.
